Startup Chile attracts new startups from Singapore, London and San Francisco

By 2014 Startup Chile will have given 1,000 high potential entrepreneurs from around the world a cool $40 million.  Companies that make the move to Chile receive a no strings grant of $40,000 and benefit from low rents. And for those that can raise $30,000 when they move on, they can qualify for a further $90,000 in seedfunding through the program.  Such influential big thinking by a small country is remarkable and its paying off – an entrepreneurial ecosystem is now established and more home grown Chilean startups than ever are being established.  Launched in 2010, Startup Chile has inspired spin offs such as Startup America, Britain, Canada, Greece and Italy.
