Report reveals key triggers for success for UK SMEs

2011/12 saw the highest level of UK startups since the last recession with over 450,000 new businesses registered. A new report launched at the Google Campus in London by University of Surrey and Kingston Smith suggests 65% of UK startups are still trading after the first three years, and 45% are in business after 5 years.  Over 1,000 SMEs and 13 focus groups participated in the survey building a picture covering issues from use of social media to entrepreneurial orientation.  You can download the report, Success in Challenging Times: Key Lessons for UK SMEs here.
